What can my State do? - A Quaker Roundtable on State-Level Climate Advocacy

Registration is closed for this event

Join Quaker Earthcare Witness on Saturday, February 22nd at 4pm ET, for a dynamic virtual roundtable exploring the critical role of state-level climate advocacy in advancing environmental and climate justice.

As national policies falter and environmental protections erode, state-level action emerges as a vital arena for meaningful change. This gathering will bring together Quaker leaders, advocates, and organizations from across the country to share challenges, successes, and strategies for impactful advocacy.

Our speakers include:

  • Jasmine Krotkov Quaker and former State Congresswoman working w/Truth to Power (Montana),
  • Vernie Davis from the Friends Committee on North Carolina Legislation (FCNCL),
  • Jim Lindburg and/or Vicki Carroll from the Friends Committee on Legislation of California (FCLCA),
  • Liz Robinson from Quaker Action Mid Atlantic Region,
  • Ranae Hanson from the Quaker Voice on Washington Public Policy, and
  • Mary Blackburn from the Indiana Friends Committee on Legislation.

Topics will include identifying leverage points, engaging local decision-makers on policy and legislation, addressing environmental injustices, and building resilience in vulnerable communities. Together, we’ll explore how Friends can stay spiritually grounded while equipping one another with practical tools to amplify collective action.

Let’s unite to protect our Earth, ensure justice, and inspire hope for generations to come.
