QEW Steering Committee meeting, Oct 11-14 2018

We meet to conduct business, plan for our future work, and join together in fellowship and worship. Please join us!

Friends can check in at the Dumas Center after 1PM.  Our Fall 2018 sessions will start with registration at 3PM and an introductory meeting at 4PM on Thursday for anyone not on the Continuing Counsel Committee.

The Continuing Counsel Committee (made up of officers and committee/working group clerks) will also meet at 4PM.

We will conclude with lunch on Sunday with an optional afternoon trip to Dusk to Dawn Farm, Maia Wolff and Erik Ostrom's home in Poulsbo, WA. Here is the invitation from Maia and Erik:

We are Maia and Erik Ostrom and have been apart of QEW for 10 and 4 years respectively. We run a small vegetable and animal farming operation in Poulsbo, WA. We are using organic practices, and appropriate technologies all with the goal of maintaining healthy animals, plants and soil -- while maintaining a sustainable life for the farmers. We invision a future where small farms are the norm and the general population is more involved in what's to eat and food production. We invite you to a day on the farm to see what we are up to. This farm field trip may include time with sheep, ducks, horses, weeds, large Douglas Firs, dahlias, free-range kids and food from the land. Things to do may include weeding, potato harvesting, chicken tractor building, mucking out stalls, listening to the swallows and enjoying a small slice of farm life. Come for the afternoon and stay the night or however long your travels allow you. Space available to sleep in the house (couches, a few beds, floor) and places to set up tents outside.
